Abstract
Agrowingnumberofneuroimagingstudiessuggestdistinctneuralchangesininflammatoryboweldiseases(IBDs).WhethersuchchangesmayshowsimilarspatialpatternsacrossdistinctneuralfeatureswithinandbetweenspecificIBDisunclear.Toaddressthisquestion,weusedmultivariatemultimodaldatafusionanalysistoinvestigatestructure/functionmodulationinremittedpatientswithCrohnsdisease(CD)andulcerativecolitis(UC).PatientswithIBD(n=46;n=31withCD,n=15withUC)instableremissionand17healthycontrols(HC)underwentstructuralmagneticresonanceimaging(sMRI)andresting-statefunctionalmagneticresonanceimaging(rs-fMRI)aswellascognitivetesting.Anxiety,depression,andfatiguewereassessedusingself-ratingquestionnaires.sMRIdatawereanalyzedviavoxel-basedmorphometry(VBM)andrs-fMRIdataviaamplitudeoflow-frequencyfluctuations(ALFFs)andregionalhomogeneity(ReHo).Detectionofcross-informationbetweenVBM,ALFF,andReHowasconductedbymeansofajointindependent
